My mom use to always say to me, “Be careful what you ask God for, because you just might get it.” I’m living proof of that. As I reflect or look back on my 2011, I was able to accomplish so many things. Some of those things were even on my bucket list. If someone would have told me at the start of 2011 that I would have been featured in a reality show on a major cable network, negotiated contracts to have my clients featured in a major retailer store, and another client’s accessories in a museum, I wouldn’t have believed them. But all those things happened and much more. So below is just a small insight into my year in fashion:

• Negotiated a clients accessories line that’s currently being featured in Museum For African Art in NYC
• Produced a fashion show on a Caribbean celebrity boat cruise
• Produced a fashion show at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock
• Booked a client on a show for BET, “Lens On Talent”
• Attended BET Awards with a client (who was a presenter and performer) and walked the red carpet, alone and with him
• Organized 2nd annual fashion show in Memphis, MidSouth Fashion Week
• Negotiated clients to be featured in several major magazines such as: Essence, Elle, Today’s Black Women, Soap Opera Digest, etc.
• Created a quarterly newsletter
• Participated in a reality show on the Sundance Channel
• Attended an official DKNY fashion show at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week
• Consulted with new reality show (online) to offer various styling tips
• Placed several clients designs on a CBS soap opera (Y&R), BET, TVOne and the Sundance Channel

2012 promises to be as equally fulfilling because I’m hoping to add several more exciting events to my calendar.
