Special St. Patrick’s Day Telethon to Benefit the Animals and Programs of the San Diego Humane Society

The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA hosts its 15th annual Telethon on Saturday, March 17th. For the first time, the Telethon will air during primetime from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on KFMB Channel 8.  Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with special hosts Barbara Lee Edwards, Dan Cohen, Kimberly King and the true stars of the show…the animals!  The telethon includes many new segments to fit its primetime air time, including: heartwarming videos of the animals enjoying some St. Patrick’s day fun; engaging video of the Investigations Department, Paws Kitten Nursery, and Medical Department; humorous stories of “luck and love” from San Diego animal lovers; a touching video called “One Word” highlighting why staff members are so passionate about their work; and a special tribute to military volunteers, staff and adopters with their animals.

Viewers will also have the first opportunity to meet the San Diego Humane Society’s new president, Dr. Gary Weitzman and hear first-hand his vision for the future of the San Diego Humane Society.
