On DVD from SHOUT! Factory and Marvel Knights comes Joss Whedon and John Cassaday’s return with ASTONISHING X-MEN: Torn.

This film tells the story of the X-Men Wolverine, after chewing out the students, are being retrained. Emma is on the rampage trying to pull the X-Men apart starting with Cyclops. Working deep inside their minds, each X-men is being drained of their powers.

But there is help coming Kitty tries to find the answers but her dreams might hold the answers. One by one the secrets are revealed and the X-Men must peel away layer by layer the deceptions and illusions to discover who is behind it all.

FINAL WORD: This is third story arc from Whedon and Cassaday. The story itself is pretty intense but also moments of humor. I have to admit seeing Wolverine in such a state was highly entertaining for me.

There are so many plot twists and turns that fans will really get into every detail and do what I did when the last episode played which was, “What? Are you kidding me? I have to wait?” Secretly I love when that happens sometimes.

Marvel Knights Animation “remains true to the heritage of panel-by-panel graphic storytelling, boasting groundbreaking illustrations, sensational soundscapes, and of course, the explosiveness of the Mighty Marvel Universe”.

Voices include: Mark Hildreth as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Laura Harris as Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, Brian Drummond as Logan/Wolverine, Ron Halder as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lara Gilchrist as Emma Frost/Perfection, Rebecca Shoichet as Agent Brand and Trevor Devall as Piotr Rasputin/Colussus

I give ASTONISHING X-MEN: Torn three tubs of popcorn out of five. This film takes graphic seriously and the storyline is intense. The new Hellfire Club has to make its move and I can’t wait for the next installment. For more from SHOUT! Factory go to www.shoutfactory.com.

In the end – they all come back, except one!
