This week On Demand and Digital HD is a film with bite from MarVista Digital Entertainment and director Scott Wheeler with “Avalanche Sharks.”
This film starts on Mammoth Mountain as co-eds head up for Bikini Snow Day. It only takes a moment before there is trouble as an avalanche brings down parts of the mountain. What Wade (Alexander Mendeluk), Diana (Kate Nauta), Lars (Benjamin Easterday), Dale (Eric Scott Woods) and Madison (Kelle Cantwell) don’t know is that an ancient evil has awaken!
This particular evil has taken the form of sharks that are hungry – for co-eds! No one can convince the local law that people are missing until they see for themselves. Now they must band together to fight something that shouldn’t be on land, let alone snow.
They may be prehistoric but hungry all the same!
Other cast include: Richard Gleason as the Sheriff, Gina Holden as the Nurse, Jack Cullison as Ted, James Ouimet as Duffy, Nicole Helen as Carol, Emily Addison as Jenna, Mike Ruggieri as Randy, Erin Ross as Lacy, Patrizia Cavaliere as Karla and Matt Gunther as Shredder.
TUBS OF POPCORN: I give “Avalanche Sharks” three tubs of popcorn out of five. I’m one of those people who looks forward to films like this because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The CGI isn’t perfect but then again there are sharks in the snow…after an avalanche…during something called Bikini Snow Day. Roll with the fun, jump a few times and laugh like crazy.
I had a good time watching it and I’m going to find “Sand Sharks” next because I feel like I’ve missed out on something here. Trust me, “Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus” is on my bucket list as well.
Director Wheeler has lent his talent to other multiple creature/disaster films such as “Sand Sharks” and “Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.” The shark infested feature film will be available on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Vimeo, VUDU as well as One Demand with AT&T and DirecTV.
