CATDOG: The Complete Series

Yep, you read me right! On DVD from SHOUT! Factory and Nickelodeon comes all 68 episodes of CATDOG: The Complete Series.

The crazy adventure begins with conjoined twins that are a little unusual to say the least. Sharing a sleek body, on end is a cat while the other is a dog. Like most siblings these two have differences of opinions on a lot of things. Dog loves rock n’ roll and chasing garbage trucks and Cat – well, not so much.

Cat (voiced by Jim Cummings) is more into playing tricks on Dog. Mainly he does it to get what he wants but don’t be fooled – he does love his gullible brother. Cat also has a soft spot in that he loves the lovely Shriek.

Dog (voiced by Tom Kenny) is your average happy dog that loves to please. A little hyper at times, Dog is whole heartedly loyal and is usually the one to get in trouble (with a little help from Cat!). He is endearing in the way he loves his brother Cat.

Along with their house mouse friend Winslow T. Oddfellow, Clifford, Lube and the lovely Shriek – Cat and Dog have a life filled with silly journeys, friendship, trouble and even some fun!

FINAL WORD: CatDog is a series that is just fun and should be taken that way. Of course it was designed for the younger animation set so I’m claiming to be reliving my youth! The jokes are funny; the characters are endearing even when they are being a tad naughty.

It is so easy to see a similarly human sibling relationship and as a mother of four I’ve seen it for myself. That’s what makes the series to fun to watch. Cat is definitely the brains of the trouble but Dog is just too cute in the way he sees nothing but good in his brother.

Peter Hannan is responsible for creating this very funny series and also serves as executive producer. According to Hannan, he was inspired by watching cats and dogs and thought it would be fun to put the two together!

Nickelodeon is the number one entertainment brand for kids. Along with television programming, they provide recreation, books and feature films for families. Nickelodeon’s television network is seen in 100 million households and to see more on what they have to offer go to

SHOUT! Factory brings the best to fans offering up feature films, classic television series, animation and specials. For more of what they have to offer go to

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give CATDOG: The Complete Series four tubs of popcorn out of five. I’m silly when it comes to animated shows because even at my age (never mind now!) I have fun watching cartoons. CATDOG is one of those series that brings a giggle just watching the opening sequence!

Having all 68 episodes is a reason to spend Saturday morning at home feeling like a kid all over again. The animation is nothing short of fantastic! Airing from 1998-2005, the DVD has a running time of 25 hours with full screen animation. In case you are wondering I plan to watch this a few times – hey, I have to share with the grandkids!

In the end – they stick together whether they like it or not!
