Most people get their fashion sense from Hollywood celebs, a certain actress, various magazines, their favorite television show, etc. My fashion sense totally comes from my mother. She had great taste. Her fashion sense was very old Hollywood glamour and it was quite wonderful!

I lived in her closet as a child growing up and as I got older, even more so.  My mom loved shoes and hats, and of course, so do I. When she use to get dressed to go to church or any other social function, she was really something spectacular!  I lost my mom eight years ago and there’s not a day that goes by when I don’t still think about her and wish that I could still hear her voice. She gave really great hugs too!

I could have chosen to write about the fabulous MET Gala that was in NYC recently but honestly this topic had much more meaning to me!  Besides, the MET Gala was already heavily covered in the media, the theme was “punk rock” …interesting.

Last week you noticed that the DVD giveaway was for a movie called “MAMA,” but that was a scary movie although my mom really loved movies; I didn’t want a scary movie to be associated with the warm, lovely sentiments that I will forever have for her in my heart.  She also had an appreciation for handsome men so I think a DVD promo that includes Channing Tatum and Jude Law would have made her smile!

So for all you Military Moms out there, “like” me on Facebook for your chance to win a copy of “SIDE EFFECTS.”

All winners will be chosen randomly, contest ends Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

Please note, if you’ve already won “anything” in the past 30 days, you are not eligible to win here.
