Chevrolet recently launched its Chevrolet Route 66 contest site, where independent filmmakers from 32 countries offer their interpretations of Chevrolet’s “Everyday Hero” for a chance to have their spot shown during the Super Bowl, the biggest night for TV commercials. The best spot as determined by Chevrolet will be shown during the big game on Feb. 5, 2012. Hodges said he chose the plot of a solider coming home from overseas because his respect runs deep for all active-duty soldiers and veterans, including his best friend who just enlisted with the Marines.
Hodges Usry, a 23-year-old independent filmmaker from Augusta, Georgia, is one of the finalists in an international contest run by Chevrolet to have a 30-second ad played during this year’s Super Bowl. Hodges is in the running to have his ad “Soldier’s Home” – which salutes the men and women of our military serving overseas – air to millions of people watching the sporting event on TV.
