Coming to Bluray, DVD and Digital HD this week from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are the superheroes of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.”

It is 2166 and Vandal Savage has taken over the planet. In the process that very evil has taken the family of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) who knows that it is time to take action before Savage becomes completely unstoppable.

Hunter travels back to 2016 in the Waverider with only one goal in mind – gathering the best and the worst to make a plan of action. Together with Ray Palmer-Atom (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance-White Canary (Caity Lotz), Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh), Martin Stein-Firestorm (Victor Garber), Leonard Snart-Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Carter Hall (Falk Hentschel) and Kendra Saunders-Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hunter travels even further back to 1975 to see Professor Boardman who was/is an expert on Vandal Savage to learn his secrets.

In that trip the group learns about themselves as well before they are all attacked by a bounty hunter named Chronos (Dominic Purcell) who is fairly upset that Hunter stole his ship to gather them all up. Not finished with 1975, they try to find Savage only to be exposed and when Savage captures Ray, Leonard and Mick, it is to bring the others to him.

During a struggle Kendra is hurt which keeps them all in 1975 longer so making the best of the time the start looking to hurt Savage in his financial pocket. While attempting to get information on the funds, Rip learns the horrifying truth that Savage is using Carter’s blood to extend life. If that isn’t enough, Ray must now shrink in order to save Kendra’s life.

Jumping to 1986, the group must get inside the Pentagon to find information on Valentina Vostok (Stephanie Corneliussen), a scientist in the Soviet Union but Chronos isn’t far behind. Stein manages to get inside the research lab and finds that Savage is trying to build an army but not before Ray and Mick become Soviet captives.

Stein knows that they are looking for the formula called Firestorm and it is quite possible that he may have to be taken out to keep anyone else from finding it. What the Soviet scientist Vostok would discover may change everything.

Now is the time for the team to go to Star City in 2046 and are met by an attack and quickly retreating. Returning they head to Smoak Industries for ship parts and are introduced to the Green Arrow and revelations about Sara and Oliver.

Rip isn’t about to give up looking for Savage and needs better software getting it from another ship called the Akeron. Their own ship comes under siege when pirates try to take the Waverider! After a deal is struck, the team heads to 1958 Oregon and after a lead to Savage, Kendra and Carter are struck by a weird creature made from the metal that gave them their initial powers. Taking all their attention, no one sees Chronos storming the Waverider and taking off with Ray, Sara and Kendra stuck in time.

Two years pass for those left behind and Sara becomes part of the League of Assassins and when Rip returns for them all. Not wanting to leave without her, Sara tells them she won’t leave Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable). When a trial-by-combat happens, Rip knows it’s the only way to save the team and the discovery of Chronos’ real identity comes out.

Now traveling to 2147, they learn of Per Degaton, a kid who will start something that helps Savage in his quest for domination. The group also learns that the Time Masters have sent out a group of their own and they are out for the team.

Hiding out in 1871, it gives the team a moment to work on a plan. While in South Dakota they meet Jonah Hex (Jonathon Schaech) who knows Rip. During a fight with the Hunters, the group finds out that the Time Masters have also sent Pilgrim’s to take out their younger selves.

Jumping to 2166, the team again comes close to finding Savage but instead finds his daughter. When Savage is captured and tries to manipulate the team, they would arrive at Vanishing Point only to discover that the Time Masters are equally as responsible for everything they have experienced.

Returning to 2016, they discover a message from Kendra telling them Savage is in 1944 France. The only way to stop Savage from using Kendra and Scythian’s blood and erase time is to break the team up as Micky and Ray go to 1958, Sara and Firestorm go to 1975 and Rip and Scythian go to 2021 to stop Savage in each place.

But someone knows what is about to happen to the group!

“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” is a fantastic way for fans to get their action hero stories once a week and in spectacular detail. There is a lot and I mean a LOT going on here in the first season but once you get into the flow of the show it’s hard to look away!

Time jumping isn’t an easy thing to do in a show and keep viewers attention but “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” manages to do just that. I certainly don’t seem to mind that they take the storyline to places all over the map and in different eras. By doing so they keep the stories from becoming predictable and bland.

Included are the episodes Pilot 1 & 2, Blood Ties, White Knights, Fail-Safe, Star City 2046, Marooned, Night of the Hawk, Left Behind, Progeny, The Magnificent Eight, Last Refuge, Leviathan, River of Time, Destiny and Legendary.

The Bluray and DVD has the Special Features of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: 2015 Comic-Con Panel – Warner Bros. Television Presents a Night of DC Entertainment at Comic-Con 2015: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Jonah Hex: Hex Marks the Spot – Journey behind the scenes of “The Magnificent Eight” as producers bring the legend of Jonah Hex and the ways of the Old West in Life, A Fantastic Voyage: Touring the Waverider Set – Journey behind the scenes with the production design team responsible for bringing the Waverider to life. From the origin of the time traveling ship, to the VFX that completes the illusion, a complete look.

Also, History in the Making – Explore the cross over between fact and fiction, as the Legends team makes contact with a variety of eras throughout the series. Time travel with the heroes and villains of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. and a Gag Reel!

There is an amazing cast behind DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and I have enjoyed getting to know each one. Something tells me that although I have some idea of each, the series hasn’t scratched the surface of where the story can go.

This Bluray marathon of goodies is an awesome way to prepare for the second season of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” With more secrets to tell, more action and more surprises, season two is going to be packed!

In the end – when heroes aren’t enough the world needs legends!
