Carolina Herrera Fall 2016

It’s Fashion Week in NYC! Well it’s actually winding down now, but you better believe there were some fabulous shows by a lot of fantastic designers. Some of the clothes you’ll see on the red carpet at the upcoming Oscar ceremonies in a few weeks, celebrity stylists just saw on the runway this week, like the beautiful design by Carolina Herrera shown here.

Soon those same stylists will head to Paris for Fashion Week and on to London and Milan and so on………..you get the point. I’ve always felt that as long as your fashion sense is classic, chic and timeless it can always be worn. Because fashion is a revolving door, which means that it constantly repeats.

The same wedge shoes that are in style now I wore in elementary and junior high school in the ’70s. Those same “wide leg pants” or “boot cut jeans” that are so popular now, we called “bell bottoms.” Low rider jeans were called “hip huggers” but straight leg jeans were still called that then as well. Like I said, fashions simply repeat themselves. Look how the show “Downton Abbey” has popularized the classic, sophisticated, glamorous fashions of the roaring 1920s, now those styles have become very popular in this millennium.

Just a few years ago the only way you could actually see a “real” fashion show was to go to NYC in person but now thanks to the power of the internet, you are just a click away! Below are just a few of my favorite designers straight from the runway:
