On DVD from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is the fond farewell from your favorite songsters with “Glee – The Final Season!”
The final season begins with the episode “Loser Like Me,” as Rachel returns to the Glee Club after her show is cancelled. But she isn’t the only returnee, as Kurt returns after an unsuccessful time at NYADA, and Sam is assistant coach for the football team.
When the McKinley alum return, it includes Mercedes, Artie, Puck, Quinn Santana, Brittany, Tina and Becky in “Homecoming.” Blaine has a tough time when a girl wants to join the all-male Warblers.
There are proposals and break ups in “Jagged Little Tapestry,” and unexpected happenings when Coach Beiste is diagnosed and Principle Sue becomes involved in the changes to come.
Sue organizes a competition between New Directions, Vocal Adrenaline and the Warblers, but she has an ulterior motive with “The Hurt Locker, Part One.” Not everything goes according to plan with “The Hurt Locker, Part Two” but even so, Sue always has a back up plan.
Rachel and Sam don’t exactly know where they are going, and Rachel is still sulking over the loss of her television show. Friendship means everything, and that’s “What the World Needs Now.”
The DVD’s special features include “Glee Music Jukebox,” “Glee — The Final Curtain” and “Looking Back Video Yearbook.”

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give “Glee — The Final Season” four and a half tubs of popcorn out of five. It is hard to believe that Glee will no longer be a part of our television viewing each week. Creator Ryan Murphy has brought so much excitement and joy with Glee and more than 700 songs that we all sang too.
With a cast that included Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Chord Overstreet, Amber Riley and guest stars such as Jenna Ushkowitz, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Harry Shum, Jr., NeNe Leakes and Gloria Estefan and so many more, the storyline gave them all purpose.
“Glee — The Complete Final Season” is a must have for Glee fans of all ages. It is also an amazing DVD to have in every drama and glee department of every school in the country. The performances are stellar and the storyline resonated believability, not only for those still in high school, but for those of us who remember the songs and issues like it was yesterday.
Well done “Glee,” Ryan Murphy and Fox for giving us quality television for six seasons and now on DVD.
In the end — it is a celebration of life, music friendship and love!
