Are you ready for a party? Landing on Bluray, Digital HD Bluray 3-D and On Demand is DreamWorks animated fun with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment bringing us “Home.”

Landing on our planet are the Boov, aliens who are always being chased by the evil Gorg. Discovering the planet Earth and all the fun it has to offer, the Boov leader, Captain Smek (Steven Martin), relocates the humans and take over!

Excited to be in a new home is Oh (Jim Parsons), who decides to throw a party and invite everyone. What I mean by everyone, it wasn’t suppose to include the evil alien chasing them. Now the Boov are freaking out and begin trying to arrest Oh for his probably millionth mistake.

On the run, literally, he meets Tip (Rihanna) who was left behind thanks to her cat Pig! After a rough first meeting, Oh agrees to help Tip find her mother Lucy (Jennifer Lopez). Their adventure brought them far more than either bargained for.

Friendship comes in many colors, shapes and mistakes!

Golden Globe winner Parsons voicing Oh is very endearing for a character that just doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of the Boov. Trying his best to fix things he tends to make them a little worse and that perhaps why the relationship between he and Tip was destined to be a good one.

Grammy Award winner Rihanna as Tip is a young woman “angry sad” that she has lost her mother. Trying to survive without the Boov discovering her whereabouts, she certainly has trust issues and rightly so. There is something about Boov that moves her into caring more than she thought she ever would.

Oscar and Emmy winner Martin as Captain Smek is hilarious — it just has to be said. First of all, both Parsons and Martin did an amazing job twisting the sentences and making it seem so simple and I wanted to make sure they received complete kudos for that. Martin is just that schmoozy alien with a mustache and a shhhhh-stick who was destined to be shhhh’d himself!

Golden Globe nominee Lopez as Lucy has a smaller role but not any less important to Tip. Lopez also lends her vocals to the song “Feel the Light.”

Other voices include: Matt Jones as Kyle, Brian Stepanek as Gorg Commander, and April Lawrence as the Boov Announcer.

DreamWorks Animation consistently brings such amazing entertainment to families and really kids of all ages. The company has released over 31 animated features including the “Shrek” franchise, “Madagascar,” “Kung Fu Panda,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Puss in Boots” and of my favorites, “The Croods.”

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is an industry leader in film and television programming. Their library continues to grow and grow with formats from DVD, Bluray and DigitalHD and there is so much more to come.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give “Home” four tubs of popcorn out of five. It’s completely fun, hilarious with so much for families to love about friendship, family, doing the right thing and giving someone a chance you might not otherwise. From beginning to end it is delightful to follow along with catchy tunes.

The story is wonderful with colorful animation on screen that just keeps everyone captivated, and I should know because it kept my family watching. I absolutely love everything that DreamWorks has done so it is no surprise that “Home” is on the top of that list!

The Bluray contains specials features such as Best Party Ever!, Party Play All, Oh’s Shake Your Boov Thing, “Feel the Light” by Jennifer Lopez – Music Video, “Feel the Light” by Jennifer Lopez – Lyric Video, Oh’s Boovy Jukebox, Oh’s Party Planning Tips, This is Being Boov, Almost Home, Testing Lab, Deleted Scenes, Be an Artist! and Stars of Home.

In the end — this is what marvelously happens when worlds collide!
