Navy Base Gate Program Launched
A test implementation of a program, called the Navy Access Control Management System, runs from Aug. 27, at noon, until Sept. 9 throughout all metro Navy Region Southwest installations. This exercise is to train personnel on the system and raise public awareness of its use. All personnel entering the installation will be required to hand their identification card to the sentry for physical verification and scanning. The process will take 2 to 8 seconds per initial scan and could cause a delay at the gates. Subsequent scans on the same card will take less time to verify. For more information call Navy Region Southwest, 619-532-1430.
