On DVD from director Chow Hin Yeung Roy and WELL GO USA comes a mystery that is surrounded by NIGHTFALL.

This film tells the story of Detective Lam (Simon Yam), a detective raising a rebellious teenage daughter. His wife’s death was ruled a suicide but something keeps drawing him to believe it was murder.

Recently released murderer Wong (Nick Cheung) is now on everyone’s radar and Lam suspects him. Wong has also taken an interest in Zoe Tsui (Janice Man), a young girl who is somehow connected to a 20 year old secret.

The more Detective Lam searches the more he discovers that everything he believed to be true couldn’t be farther from it.

FINAL WORD: Yam as Detective Lam is an interesting character. Watching his own personal story unfold lends such depth to the story. There is so much going on in this film that the viewer could easily get confused but Lam’s character is the center so follow the leader!

Cheung as Wong is kind of creepy but in an excellent bad-guy way. He doesn’t have much to say and its all in his face and attitude. His character also unravels slowly with a story to tell.

Other cast include:Shawn Dou, Yuk-Keung Kwok, Mike Leeder, Chia Hui Liu, Kay Tse, Michael Wong and On-on Yu.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give NIGHTFALL three tubs of popcorn out of five. This is a story that is filled with twists and turns with everyone having their own agenda to find the truth. There is such depth in each character so follow along and you won’t be disappointed to where it ends.
