Are you ready Ranger fans? SHOUT! Factory and Saban Brands has done it again bringing ‘Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue: The Complete Series’ on DVD.

On Mariner Bay in California is a burial ground, but not just any burial ground. On this spot are ancient demons and now they have been released. Now, the Lightspeed Rescue reach out for help in defending the city.

Led by Captain William Mitchell (Ron Rogge), the government calls in Carter Grayson (Sean Johnson), a local firefighter who will become the Red Lightspeed Ranger and Chad Lee (Michael Chaturantabut) who works with marine animals who is the Blue Lightspeed Ranger.

There is Kelsey (Sasha Williams) who enjoys extreme sports and takes on being the Yellow Lightspeed Ranger. To round out the group is Captain Mitchell’s daughter Dana (Alison MacInnis), a nurse and now the Pink Lightspeed Ranger and Joel (Keith Robinson), a stunt pilot who becomes the Green Ranger.

Involved in the project as well is Angela Fairweather (Monica Louwerens) who runs the Lightspeed Aquabase that is located underwater to keep the demons at bay. Taking on the demons time and again is a battle that brings the Rangers skills to the test. They must work together as a final battle is inevitable.

They will come together!

Debuting in 1993, Saban’s Power Rangers series is the most watched children’s program. Running in over 60 countries and translated into other languages, it has for over 20 years been a constant saga and favorite by kids and adults alike (especially since those adults started watching when they were kids!)

The villains include Jennifer Yen as Vypra, Diane Salinger as Queen Bansheera, Neil Kaplan as Diabolico, Michael Forest as Prince Olympius, David Lodge as Loki and Kim Strauss as Jinxer.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give ‘Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue: The Complete Series’ four tubs of popcorn out of five. I can never get enough of feeling like I’ve stepped into a time machine and gone by to my own kids’ childhoods. To be honest, they kept watching POWER RANGERS long after!

The biggest draw for me is the relationships between the Rangers themselves. They show the best of friendship, loyalty and a sense of protecting the world in which they live. Those are such admirable qualities to be sure. The action and adventure are a bonus to making the show exciting and fun.

The costuming has always been an iconic part of the series and I have to say the villains costumes are so creative and fantastical. Just an added touch that brought fans back for more. If you have ever been to Comic Con in San Diego you will find plenty of people who still line up for all things Power Rangers and costumes everywhere.

SHOUT! Factory brings the best to fans offering up feature films, classic television series, animation and specials. For more of what they have to offer go to The DVD includes all 40 episodes coming in at 14.5 hours of storytelling

In the end — they are Earth’s final line of defense!
