The Rescue Train’s “Race For The Rescues” fundraising event is coming to Orange County on Sunday, November 10th at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine where local animal lovers will take on a 5K or 10K run/walk.
This day of fun with Hollywood flair will raise funds for 15 nonprofit, no-kill animal welfare organizations who together help save thousands of animals’ lives each year. The event will also include a 1K Dog Walk, 1K Kids Fun Run, Costume Contest, Pet Psychics, Pet Adoptions and more.
“Race for the Rescues” is a premier animal-related fundraising event benefiting the following non-profit rescue organizations: The Ark Animal Rescue, A Home Forever Rescue, 4Life Animal Rescue, Barks of Love, CA GSP Rescue, Caring Friends Cat Rescue, Coastal German Shepherd Rescue, Hanaeleh Horse Rescue, Lovebugs Rescue, No Stray Left Behind, Red Bucket Equine Rescue, Second Chance Pet Adoptions, Southern California Bulldog Rescue, To Many Bunnies Rescue, Orange County Cavy Haven and The Rescue Train. The Rescue Train applauds these nonprofit 501c3 rescue groups and animal welfare organizations. Each year these groups save and find loving homes for thousands of dogs, cats, and horses. They are also dedicated to rehabilitating wild life, preventing cruelty to farmed animals, providing veterinary care for pets of low-income families and free spay/neuter clinics. They are solely run on tax‐deductible donations. Because of their tireless devotion, our world is kinder place.
“After eight years of successfully hosting the event in Los Angeles, we are excited to expand this much needed fundraiser to the animal lover community in Orange County,” says Lisa Young, Director of the Rescue Train. “What many animal lovers don’t know is that in Orange County, hundreds of dogs and cats are euthanized each week in the local shelters. It is our mission to bring the community together with the common goal to eliminate this suffering through hands-on rescue, education and awareness.”
