San Pasqual Winery is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of its new winery location in La Mesa, California.

Since Mike and Linda McWilliams acquired the winery in 2009, the winery’s success influenced a need to expand from its small production facility in Pacific Beach to a larger facility at 8140 Center Street in La Mesa. The Grand Opening takes place on Saturday, June 22 through Sunday June 23 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm and features samplings of San Pasqual’s award-winning wines, food from local restaurants and gourmet food companies, live music from local bands, and more according to winemaker Linda McWilliams.

“We’re excited for the Grand Opening of our new winery,” added McWilliams. “We want to show San Diegans that they don’t have to drive all the way to Temecula to enjoy outstanding, locally produced wines. The Grand Opening is an invitation to all local wine and food enthusiasts in San Diego to join us in celebrating, while enjoying great wine, great food and great company.”

Tickets for the Grand Opening are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and are all-inclusive. San Pasqual Winery is pouring wines from its portfolio of 15+ wines, including many of its award-winning bottles such as its Summervine Habanero Passionfruit Wine, which won Double Gold at the 2013 San Diego County Fair and its 2010 Lake County Malbec, recently chosen as one of five wines to represent California at an international Malbec tasting in Cahors, France. The wines will be served alongside mouthwatering food provided by Creations 4U, Hooley’s Irish Pub and more. In addition, attendees can enjoy live musical entertainment from Mercury Street Blues and The Sock Monkeys on Saturday, June 22 and the Push Pins and local jazz trio, Sam Diego on Sunday, June 23.

San Pasqual Winery’s new location serves the dual purpose of allowing owners Mike and Linda McWilliams to put down roots closer to the winery’s tasting room and gallery on La Mesa Boulevard, where local clientele can enjoy their wines in a comfortable wine bar setting. The new location also gives them the ability to increase their square footage to accommodate their expanding business. The winery currently produces 1,500 cases of wine a year, however with the expansion it will be able to ramp up production to 2,500 cases of wine next season, and eventually up to 5,000 cases as demand increases. The new location also houses a small tasting room with limited hours on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00 pm.
