Marina Kitchen is partnering up with the Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance to host an afternoon of wine tasting and a BBQ dinner to follow on Sunday, March 30.

Twenty member wineries will be on-site pouring wines, discussing the unique characteristics of wines grown in the Sta. Rita Hills American Viticultural Area, and sharing their passion for the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays produced from Sta. Rita Hills’ vineyards.

“A hallmark of Marina Kitchen’s wine program is the effort that we put into looking for wine education opportunities our guests will enjoy,” said in-house sommelier and bar manager, Joshua Orr. “After the success of our Tasting on the Terrace Series and Wine Cellar Dinners last fall, we’ve been brainstorming ideas to bring a fresh and educational tasting opportunity back to Marina Kitchen. With the Sta. Rita Hills winemakers on-site, the Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance Tasting and BBQ is poised to do just that.”

Participating wineries include, but are not limited to: Cargasacchi Wines, Cold Heaven Cellars, Fiddlehead Cellars, Foxen Winery, Kita Wines, Ken Brown Wines, Kessler-Haak Vineyard & Wines, Lindley Wines, and Pali Wine Company.

The Sunday event features an afternoon wine tasting followed by a BBQ dinner served buffet style on the Marina Kitchen terrace overlooking the San Diego bay front. The walk-around Sta. Rita Hills Consumer Tasting starts at 3:00pm and lasts until 5:00pm. Tickets for the Consumer Tasting are $20.00 per person plus applicable ticketing fees. The BBQ dinner begins at 5:30pm and features live-action food stations, large format bottles, and several additional Sta. Rita Hills wines not available at the consumer tasting. Tickets for the dinner are $45.00, not including applicable ticketing fees.
