This week from directors David Grifhorst, Robert Deaton and SHOUT! Factory is a star-studded presentation of “The Passion Live.”

“The Passion” tells the story of Jesus Nazareth but in the modern settle of New Orleans. Narrated by Tyler Perry, he tells the events of the dramatic and inspirational story of Jesus (Jencarlos Canela). From the Last Supper with Peter (Prince Royce) and the disciples to the betrayal by Judas (Chris Daughtry), music producer Adam Anders brings stunning arrangements.

The decision of the crucifixion by Pontius Pilate (Seal) to the fear of a mother’s heart by Mary (Trisha Yearwood), the music gives a story that is already filled with emotion, an even deeper feel. Carrying the crucifix to the final scene, it is impossible to not experience the range of emotion this event brings.

In New Orleans outside the Superdome, a live stage in Woldenburg Park is where this performance took place in front of a live audience. Now, the DVD offers a revisit of this amazing. Originally aired by Fox in Spring of 2016, this 2000-year-old-story of the last hours of the life of Christ was specifically arranged for this live event.

I truly enjoyed “The Passion Live” and the presentation of the DVD is done beautifully. The vocals could not be more beautiful with the soulful voice of Canela as Jesus and Daughtry as Judas.

Trisha Yearwood has such a lovely voice that tells the story of Mary with each note she hits. Seal as Pontius Pilate just gave me the shivers with every word and artistic wave of music.

This is one of the greatest stories ever told with the most powerful voices bringing this retelling to life!
