THE VAMPIRE DIAIRIES Bite Into a Complete Fifth Season on Bluray

On Bluray, DVD and Digital HD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and just in time for the new season is THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: The Complete Fifth Season.

In Mystic Falls, Virginia a young woman, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) has fallen in love with Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Normally this wouldn’t be a problem except Stefan is a vampire. There is also brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) who happens to be in love with Elena as well. That’s were the story gets interesting!

The finale of season four is mayhem as ghosts and the supernatural are intent of revenge. Damon’s life is in danger as Matt and Rebekah try to help. It is Silas they need to watch out for as the ending leaves Stefan at the bottom of a lake.

Elena is off to college trying to discover a normal life with normal friends. The one thing she didn’t count on was the return of doppelgangers, Travelers, witches and the fate of Mystic Falls.

Now the brothers want the same girl, the Elena is having dreams about Stefan, Silas is causing trouble, Katherine doesn’t want to age, Damon ends up in a cage, Wes has plans of his own, Enzo has a story to tell, Nadia searches for her mother and Tyler’s body isn’t his own.

The Bluray finale season five shocker that brings and end to some and a beginning for others!

FINAL WORD: Dobrev as Elena is so perfect in this role. The dark and mysterious look about her that this actress plays on very well. Along with that is an innocence about Elena that Dobrev captures at all the right moments. Fans absolutely love her and some even wish they had her decision when it comes to choosing from two vampire brothers! Currently Dobrev can be seen in the comedy LET’S BE COPS.

Wesley as Stefan has a rough end to season four that leads to a suspenseful season five at the bottom on a lake! Fans that I have spoken with were all a flutter about this past season and couldn’t wait to see were the path of Wesley was going to go in the new season. Having had roles in such television series as 24, Army Wives and the hit show The O.C., Wesley has proven himself a sold performer and a vampire most likely to get the girl!

Somerhalder as Damon also has a mysterious and dark persona, a little more than his ‘Stefan’ brother. It is not surprising that he won a Teen Choice Award because I personally experienced what happens when open the floor to vampire fans at the San Diego Convention Center. The moment Somerhalder’s name was said introducing him to the panel the place lost its collective minds. What was also amazing was the seriousness of the questions to Somerhalder and how cool he was with fans appreciating their attention to the shows detail.

TUBS OF POPCORN: I give THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: The Complete Fifth Season three and a half tubs of popcorn out of five. This is a great way for vampire fans to still get their fix. There is an intense and complex storyline in this series with room for surprises and twists.

The characters are so twisted (in a great way) and interwoven with the actors making it look seamless in the making. I was introduced to THE VAMPIRE DIARIES a few years after it began and took an entire weekend to catch up once I learned more about it. Yes, that’s serious vampire time and I don’t regret it for a moment. It quickly became easy to see why the fan base continues to grow and congrats to The CW and Warner Bros. for keeping our vampire love alive!
