THE WOLVERINE – (PG-13)
Once again Hugh Jackman puts his claws on the line and this time it’s a challenge of his lifetime to deal with his own personal demons. In Japan he is pushed to his limits at the point of a samurai sword. Three tubs of popcorn out of five.

THE CONJURING – (R)
FINALLY, an awesome scary movie that doesn’t use ‘horror’ to scare us. Instead, based on a true family story, the director gives us creepy music and something more horrifying than what is on the screen and that is what’s in our own minds! Four tubs of popcorn out of five.

DESPICABLE ME 2 – (PG)
Of course this is the number one movie grossing over a zillion gazillion dollars at the box office – have you seen it yet? This is a film that is the true definition of family fun. It has laughs, minions, a storyline, family, minions, more laughs and did I say minions? Steve Carell returns as Gru – the mad scientist not-so-evil-anymore villain and Dad of three rambunctious girls who are growing up. Four tubs of popcorn out of five.

TURBO – (PG)
A garden snail with big dreams finds, through a freak accident, that sometimes dreams are totally awesome. Another colorful animated family story from Dreamworks Animation. Three tubs of popcorn out of five.

GROWN UPS 2 – (PG-13)
The boys are back in town up to the same old stuff, in the same old ways and doing the same old things that lead to the same old conclusion. The operative word here is ‘old’ but some people enjoy that. Three tubs of popcorn out of five.

RED 2 – (PG-13)
Bruce Willis is back with Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and newcomer Anthony Hopkins and Byung-hun Lee. This time the team is tracking down a nuclear device but that doesn’t stop chaos to ensue. Three tubs of popcorn out of five.

PACIFIC RIM – (PG-13)
It’s a war between the human race and sea aliens who have come up through the ocean from another dimension. Yea, I thought the same thing but if you love rock ‘em, sock ‘em robots on steroids then this is the film for you. Three tubs of popcorn out of five.

THE HEAT – (R)
Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are fighting crime – to bad they can’t arrest this film. I don’t know what they were going for but besides a chuckle or two here and there I felt like I was watching a nightmare of MISS CONGENIALITY. Two tubs of popcorn out of five.

R.I.P.D. – (PG-13)
What happens to a cop who is murdered when he dies? Well, he joins the R.I.P.D. (Rest In Peace Department). Ryan Reynolds joins Jeff Bridges to try and find the person responsible. There is only one little hiccup, neither looks like you would think! Three tubs of popcorn out of five.

FRUITVALE STATION – (R)
The true story of a man from the bay area who, on the last day of 2008, tries to end the year on a good note. What he doesn’t expect to happen at Fruitvale Station is an event that would bring a nation to know who Oscar Grant is. Three and a half tubs of popcorn out of five.
