Tri-City Inline Hockey League (TCIHL), a non-profit organization established over 20 years ago for the development of youth inline roller hockey in North County San Diego, announces Roller Hockey Clinics, a couple of events free for kids from military families between the ages of 5-14, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays, February 14 and 21, 2015, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park’s roller hockey rink located at 4300 Mesa Drive in Oceanside, just outside MCCS Camp Pendleton.

Check-in begins at 10:00 am, rink activities will take place from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for beginner players, and from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for experienced players, both time slots comprised of youth ages 5 through 14. All kids and all their siblings are welcome – refreshing shaved ice will be served at this event. The clinic program, consisting of free skating lessons, fun games, and drills, will coincide with optional in-person registration for TCIHL’s Spring-2015 Season and TCIHL Gear Drive at the same time. During these 2 events, first time skaters will be able to borrow protective gear and equipment at the site for use on a first-come-first-served basis, including brand-new helmets and hockey sticks generously provided by HockeyTron.com.

Tri-City Inline Hockey League’s President, Shane Nakamura, stated: “Our Hockey Clinics this February are two great opportunities for the military kids in our community to come out and try hockey for the first time before the Spring Season begins at TCIHL and for experienced players to hone their skills.”

TCIHL was the first sanctioned inline league in California by USA Hockey. Its co-ed recreational program is open to new and experienced players aged starting from 5 years old.
