The Tiny Solider, creators of military and service-themed clothing for children, introduced four new children’s clothing designs which include these whimsical, signature, stick-figure characters honoring our nation’s returning soldiers.

“Military moms often plan something special for the return of their soldiers, which includes dressing the children in patriotic outfits to show support,” said Janell Mitchell, CEO of The Tiny Soldier. “There were never any kid-friendly ‘Welcome Home’ shirts out there—and certainly not ones that could be personalized. It’s our way of showing support for the returning troops.”

Those with a patriot lein are now going to The Tiny Soldier website to choose designs to match their child’s item of clothing. The designs include a choice of a female or a male figure—one each with a camouflage outfit and one with a yellow star. The “Welcome Home” stick-figure children are all carrying a small American flag.

Before checking out, they have you add personalized elements to the design, including embroidered words, names, or different-colored hair to match the color of the child’s hair.

The idea for welcome home clothing originated when Ms. Mitchell ran into Julie Chavez, a military mom from Hawaii. Chavez introduced herself to Mitchell at an expo and expressed her gratitude for what The Tiny Soldier was creating, namely these patriotic items for children—and her amazement that Mitchell was so dedicated without having any ties to the military. The women ended up in tears. With Chavez’s husband deployed, they talked further about how wonderful it would be to have clothing items that said, “Welcome Home.”

Customers order the embroidered designs on a wide variety of infant or children’s clothing directly from the website: www.thetinysoldier.com. They also provide custom embroidery for ball teams, businesses, charities, etc. For more info, e-mail Janell Mitchell at janell@thetinysoldier.com or call: 623-825-5057

On November 12, 2011, the Gary Sinise Foundation and The Tiny Solider announced a joint partnership that will result in a unique line of products, with 50% of proceeds from sales of the clothing going to the Foundation and 5% going to The Tiny Soldier’s favorite military service organization, Operation Gratitude.
