After her first child, Virginia Jones realized she needed to do something about the loose skin on her abdomen and the noticeable stretch marks. The Navy officer’s wife felt uncomfortable going to the beach with her friends and family and was too self conscious to wear a bikini.

After the birth of her second and third child, her confidence plummeted. “Dieting and exercising didn’t take care of the excess weight in my tummy. It made me feel bad about myself.” After a consultation with Dr. Jason Hess, Virginia was excited to learn about options to restore her figure. Surgery was big decision.

The Navy wife said she interviewed many plastic surgeons across the country wherever her husband had been stationed. The consultations were brief and few of her concerns were addressed. “No one had ever asked me what I wanted,” she explained. When she talked to Dr. Hess, a San Diego plastic surgeon, she was amazed he took so much time discussing abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” surgery.

“The main thing for me is that you have to feel comfortable with your doctor. Dr. Hess is very personable and caring,” she stated. “He wants the best results for the patient. I felt confident going into a major surgery with him,” said Mrs. Jones.

After Dr. Hess performed her liposuction and tummy tuck, the mother said, “I was amazed at the results. They were better than I ever imagined they could be. The surgery eliminated the majority of the stretch marks.”

Mrs. Jones has changed the way she dresses because she is no longer worried about covering up her stomach. “Every single day I look at myself, and I am so happy I got a tummy tuck. I feel very fortunate I found Dr. Hess. I can now wear a bikini on the beach with my husband and not be ashamed.”

The Jones family now lives in Oahu where Virginia’s husband is stationed.

“Before my surgery, I felt insecure. Now, I go to the beach all the time with my husband. It has helped our relationship because I am willing to go out in public more.”

One of the reasons the Navy wife chose Dr. Hess as her surgeon was because he is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only certifying board for plastic surgeons. Dr. Hess explained his passion for plastic surgery. “I want to help people restore their confidence. Today’s techniques can safely provide dramatic improvement and natural results.”
