If you’re a fan of my blog you know that I’m kind of fascinated by what celebrities are wearing, even when they don’t look so fashionable.

Last year I wrote a series of blogs that featured various stylist and costume designers from a variety of television shows and I’m noticing again this year that the trend of celebrities turning into “designers” doesn’t appear to be going away. So for the reminder of the year and into the first quarter, I will feature a series of blogs on the “celebrity fashionista.”

Currently so far the list of celebrities getting into the fashion game or extending their brand include, Sarah Jessica Parker, Melissa McCarthy, Will.i.am, Leon Tally, David Becham and Sean John, just to name a few. BTW, I have to give a shout out to Jessica Alba because apparently she’s started an organic brand for babies, www.honest.com, and it’s apparently made her a billionaire, yes that’s with a “b”!

Anyway, if you recall I also love shoes and one of my favorite celebrity fashionista’s shoe line was just given the honor of the “Footwear News Achievement Launch of the Year”; none other than SJP—Sarah Jessica Parker.

Her blossoming SJP footwear and handbag collection has the busy actress (currently filming a movie in Italy coming to theaters in 2015) very excited. When aka Carrie Bradshaw of “Sex in the City” fame teamed up with her business partner George Malkemus to debut the line at Nordstrom in February; there was little doubt it would create buzz. The launch has been successful and Nordstrom execs attribute the brand’s steady growth to Sarah’s intimate involvement.

The shoes are crafted in Italy are being kept at accessible prices from $195 to $695 for shoes and $195 to $495 for the handbags.

In addition to establishing strong ties with retailers, Parker has stayed close to consumers through in-store appearances at Nordstrom and via social media, which she oversees herself.

No doubt her loyal fan base from her Sex in the City days also helps to open new doors for the line. Her line will soon find a new home via ZapposCouture, Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdale’s and debuting in Dubai this week as well. Most recently the collection has been stocked at Neimanmarcus.com.

For more information on SJP’s line, please visit any of the websites where her shoes are sold.

Until next time my Veteran Fashionistas, as always, stay fashionable!
