31st annual Mission Federal ArtWalk

The 31st annual Mission Federal ArtWalk will be setting up shop in Little Italy from April 25-26, 2015 and I wanted to be sure you had this yearly festival on your radar – its expected to attract over 120,000 locals and visitors from near and far!

This beloved local event will feature over 15 blocks of incredible art, live entertainment, food, music and fun during the two-day outdoor street festival in the heart of downtown San Diego. Mission Federal ArtWalk will feature collectable and approachable art from all kinds of mediums, such as drawings, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, photography, metal work, wood work and much more. This event also assists in raising funds for ArtWalk’s longtime charitable partner, ArtReach – a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization that takes artists into K – 6 schools throughout San Diego County to provide sequential, standards-based visual arts education workshops, with an emphasis on providing free workshops to Title I schools with no existing visual arts resources.

In addition to its activities, ArtWalk is also focused on spotlighting new artists. 53 artists are brand new to the event, including artists from New Zealand and Italy.  Along with many new artists, this year also highlights ten exceptional artistic talents, who were all honored at ArtWalk’s ARTIE Awards earlier this month. The featured artists for Mission Federal ArtWalk 2015 include local San Diegans, Sue Britt, Ellen Dieter and Christine Schwimmer, along with Mark Allen, Hong Rubinstein, Christina Leta, Dorothee Naumberg, Karen O’Brien, Scott Palmer and Tim Pattison. Details on their work can be seen here: http://www.artwalksandiego.org/missionfederal/featured-artists/
