With a nod to the soda jerks of the 1930s, Barons Market brings back specialty soda ice cream floats for one day this summer.

A locally owned grocery store that sells simply good food at simply good prices, Barons Market invites families to its Sweet Summer Social on Saturday, June 22 from noon – 4 p.m. at its locations in Point Loma, Rancho Bernardo, Temecula and Wildomar.

Ice cream floats are free for children 12 and younger and only $2 for their friends. Barons Market will donate all of the event’s proceeds from two charities, one based in Temecula/Wildomar and one based in San Diego County. Charities to be determined.

“The silver soda fountain spigot maybe a thing of the past, but Barons Market can still bring Southern California a Sweet Summer Social filled with family fun and tasty ice cream floats,” said Rachel Shemirani, marketing manager at Barons Market. “Plus, we get to celebrate the warm summer months by raising cool cash to help local charities.”

For the vanilla ice cream floats, each location will have four soda flavors available including classic flavors like Virgil’s Root Beer, Frostie’s Blue Cream Soda, Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Root Beer and Sprecker Orange Dream.

In true soda fountain fashion, Barons Market’s Sweet Summer Social is sure to be the centerpiece of the hot summer months.
