After an amazing year of accomplishments, such as an Oscar nomination for a hit song (“Happy”), from a hit movie, (“Despicable Me 2”)……Pharrell the multiple Grammy award winner was also a judge on a reality fashion show, and is a producer extraordinaire.

Now we learn that Adidas has paired up with the superstar musician for the first-ever Adidas Originals Pharrell Williams collection, set to launch this summer.

Some of the new designs will incorporate Bionic Yarn, a product of the Vortex Project, Williams’s environmental textiles initiative with Parley for the Oceans, which recycles plastic ocean debris into useable fabrics. It is the first time Adidas has partnered with a designer who owns a textile company.

“I am truly thrilled to work with Pharrell,” said Dirk Schoenberger, Global Creative Director of Adidas Sport Style Division, of the long-term partnership.

Apparently Pharrell had been an avid wearer of Adidas all his life while growing up in Virginia and is very excited by the partnership between Bionic Yarn and Adidas.

This isn’t the first high-profile collaboration for the vastly multi-talented musician, who is currently working on a unisex fragrance for Comme des Garçons as well as creating a line of limited edition t-shirts with Uniqlo due out next month.

The musician’s Bionic Yarn fabric is about to be used in an upcoming collaborative fashion range with G-Star, set to hit stores on August 15.

This isn’t Adidas Originals first high profile collaboration, other partnerships have included Jeremy Scott, Nigo, and recently, British high street fashion brand Topshop.
In other fashion news, the Kardashians roll out another line, this time for kids.

The popular E! Reality stars have rolled out Kardashian Kids at Babies R Us, featuring polka dots and lots of leopard and butterfly prints.

Kourtney Kardashian revealed to the Daily News that her big sis, Kim, who appears on the April cover of Vogue with fiancé Kanye West, was heavily involved in designing the line for baby girls.
Kim Kardashian, a new mom of a 9-month-old girl, is known to wear clothes that accentuate her famous backside, the baby clothes appear to be more cute than provocative.

The line is surprisingly reasonably priced as well and available on the Babies R Us website.
Currently the line is just exclusive for girls, but the ladies hope to get the chance to do a Kardashian Kids line for boys.

Until next time my Veteran Fashionistas, as always, stay fashionable!
