The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA will reduce adoption fees for all pit bull mixes to just $17 for a special “Saint Pitty’s Day” promotion, March 15 – 17.

This reduced adoption fee includes the spay/neuter surgery, microchip, preliminary vaccinations, a sample bag of dog food and adopter support for the life of the pet. The adoption promotion will enable the San Diego Humane Society to celebrate the love and companionship of the pit bull while also encouraging responsible pit bull ownership.

“Every animal that’s adopted makes space for another animal who is in urgent need of care,” explained Dr. Gary Weitzman, president and CEO of San Diego Humane Society and SPCA. “Adoption specials like this one help to find homes for these animals and bring attention to the issue of pit bull overpopulation in our community.”

Weitzman continues, “Pit bull breeds tend to remain in our care longer than other dog breeds, at no fault of their own. The purpose of this adoption promotion is to help everyone see what loving companions pit bulls can make when given the right training, care and environment. We hope to spread awareness about the breed, while also finding homes for these dogs.”

Visit San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus, Oceanside Campus or the Adoption Center at Petco from March 15 to 17 to take advantage of this special adoption promotion for any pit bull mix.
