Birdies for the Brave, a national military outreach initiative proudly supported by the PGA TOUR has partnered with SheerID, a point-of-sale verification provider, to verify status of active duty, Reserve, military retirees, dependents, and veterans interested in obtaining complimentary and discounted tickets offered at select PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, and Web.com Tour events.

SheerID’s technology allows Birdies for the Brave to verify an applicant’s military affiliation, after which SheerID issues a voucher redeemable for complimentary or discounted tickets upon entry at the main entrance gate to the tournament. Once on-site, many events also offer military complimentary hospitality in the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost. The Patriots’ Outpost is a complimentary hospitality chalet designed exclusively for the military and includes free food and beverage.

“The SheerID technology is a solution we have been in search of for quite some time,” explains Stephen Kupcha, the PGA TOUR’s Sr. Manager Military Outreach, and a Retired Navy SEAL. “We want to ensure that only those who have served can take advantage of the TOUR’s military ticketing offers.”

“We are excited to partner with Birdies for the Brave to help them honor our country’s service men and women with access to PGA TOUR events nationwide,” said Jake Weatherly, CEO and co-founder of SheerID. “SheerID’s technology allows them to target offers and give back to these specific audiences through our fast, secure military verification software.”

Tickets to the THE PLAYERS Championship, taking place May 6-12 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL are currently available through SheerID at https://birdiesforthebrave.sheerid.com/theplayers/. Over 10,000 current and former military service members and their families are expected to attend.
